In summary, all these programs serve different purposes. I haven't used Addictive Drums but from what I heard it was closer to EZ Drummer in functionality/quality. Especially if you're triggering the samples with E-drums instead of programming them in. If you buy SD and the expansion packs on sale (and it goes on sale practically monthly or bi-monthly) then I'd say it's a much better choice than Slate. You can really get in and mold your sound a lot better. Superior Drummer is closer in price to Slate and the SDX expansions are far better samples and more comprehensive. The EZDrummer program as well as the sample library expansions are not supposed to be completely comprehensive. EZDrummer is (and is meant to be) easy to use and fast. If you have used (and PAID) for a lot of sample-based plug-ins, you would understand why its good to be skeptical about the clips that are provided to entice you to buy the product.I don't think your comparison choices are fair. SSD is a bit of an unknown product compared to others that are out there and being used by thousands more people and for a longer period of time. Last time I spent some time really searching for user clips of it there weren't many to be found as it probably hadn't been out for long. IMO, if you arent convinced by what is already out there on the kit demos and the clips, then you probably wont be. Splatt88's stuff with Slate snares/kicks is what made me buy these samples. Really shows the variety of these samples.Įnditol's clips have Slate stuff.

Not convinced yet it offers this, but i'd love it if it does. You should be able to pull off double bass that doesn't sound like triggers yet also doesn't drastically change with every hit (like EZDrummer does). If you have multiple samples per velocity, you should be able to pull off a snare roll pretty convincingly using just a few velocity changes. Superior Drummer 3 aside, does anyone have EZDrummer 2, Addictive Drums 2 and/or Steven Slate Drums 5.5 What are the pros and cons with EZDrummer 2 vs Addictive Drums 2 vs Steven Slate Drums 5.5 Any real-world pitfalls or experience/recommendations thanks in advance. Yet I have not heard enough to be convinced of it. These programs sure as hell ought to by this point. Ive been using a variety of Logic kits, samples (ThatSound, NoiseHome, etc.), and an ancient version of EZDrummer 1. I do demo work and some producing/mixing.
